All three of my Chomecasts sucked down a steady 450Kb/sec of data from Dec 12 to Dec 19 (and similarly, at a slightly lower data rate, in an earlier period from Dec 3 to Dec 6). They aren't doing it any more, and didn't do it during any other intervals in the 30 days I have detailed logs for.

I can see this in the detailed per-client bandwidth usage charts on my wifi AP (a Meraki), and I can see the aggregate inbound bandwidth usage in the logs on my edge router. The total inbound data...

So we all pretty much know about the YouTube API change earlier this year. I'm still trying to figure out an alternative to that problem. Google has also prevented the continued use of most Google TV boxes and televisions. If you do a quick search you will undoubtedly see how many people can no longer use their Google TV devices after a hard reset. I found myself here after performing a reset to try and get more performance out of my device.

It seems that Google has blocked the activation...

In my own opinion; and, I'm sure 99% of you will agree: Google Needs DVR and Streaming capabilities. If they had that I can't see how anyone WOULDN'T want that.

So, I got a new Android TV device, it came with version 7.1.2 which seems pretty recent.

It came with some crappy home launcher. So I thought I woulld install the recently release Android TV Launcher from google. But Pllay says it is not compatible with my device.

What am I missing?

Hi everybody, yesterday I installed BBM on Micromax A110Q Canvas 2 Plus, its working fine and nice app.

Guys I want to set ringtone for my BBM, when anybody ping me.

I have searched around the settings but no option found to do it.

I remember reading somewhere else that someone asked this question and it made a lot of sense to me. Instead of shelling out $300 for logitech's box. Shouldn't the open source code eventually be available for xbox 360 and ps3?

Hi,

I have an amlogic mxq pro android tv box.

Today I tried the Youtube live tv trial. It works fine on my computer, but on the android tv box, it won't let me sign in. It brins up the screen with my gmail. Then I can either choose the gmail account, or add a new one. No matter which I pick, if I press the OK button, nothing happens.

How can I even log in?

Is there any future for GTV devices such as Vizio Co Star or are these throwaways? I surely didn't have mine very long, can no longer use WatchESPN and choices from the Google Play store are greeted with Not Compatible with Your Device.

I have an x900E television and have gone through the inetgration steps with Alexa for voice command control with my DirecTV box. I am able to tell Alexa to turn the TV on/off, volume up/down, mute, channel up/down and specific channel numbers or names EXCEPT for one channel.

The channel is 8/ABC. If I ask Alexa to change the TV to channel 8, the TV input is changed from the "Set Top Box" (DirecTV) input on HDMI1 to to the "regular" TV input to channel 8 - which of course has not signal. If...
